About the Role
The Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition leads a high-performing team dedicated to attracting and hiring top talent for QXO’s branch operations. This role will primarily focus on recruiting professional salaried base talent across our 800+ and rapidly growing branch locations nationwide, which operate within warehouse and distribution environments.
This role combines strategic leadership with operational excellence, ensuring a seamless experience for both candidates and stakeholders. Operating within a player-coach environment, the role balances team development, recruiting strategy, and process optimization while remaining hands-on in supporting key and executive-level searches as business needs evolve.
This leader will help develop and coach the recruiting team on proactive sourcing strategies, talent mapping, and building pipelines for hard-to-fill and niche leadership roles. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for scaling recruiting processes, optimizing systems and workflows, and driving consistent, high-quality hiring results while serving as a trusted partner to senior operational leaders.
What you’ll do:
· Lead and Mentor: Manage and develop an experienced recruiting team, ensuring alignment with branch hiring goals and business priorities.
· Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with senior operational leadership to forecast talent needs and design recruiting strategies that support company growth.
· Deliver Excellence: Ensure the team provides exceptional candidate experience and efficient, inclusive hiring processes.
· Monitor & Optimize: Track recruiting activity, metrics, and performance; implement adjustments to meet aggressive hiring targets.
· Employer Branding: Support branding initiatives and represent QXO externally to attract top talent.
· Hands-On Leadership: Balance individual requisition ownership with team management responsibilities. This is a player-coach role and will require ownership of a few executive-level searches in addition to team leadership responsibilities.
· Bring a strong sourcing and talent intelligence mindset, leveraging proactive outreach, talent mapping, market insights, networking, and pipeline development strategies to identify and engage top talent
· Drive Innovation: Implement scalable recruiting programs and process improvements to support high-volume hiring.
· Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with HR and business leaders on workforce planning and talent strategies.
What you’ll bring:
· Experience: 8+ years in recruiting, including 5+ years in leadership role; proven success recruiting for exempt-level positions within warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or operational environments.
· Leadership: Strong people management skills with the ability to develop and motivate teams.
· Expertise: Advanced knowledge of recruiting best practices, tools, and technologies; experience implementing scalable strategies in high-growth environments.
· Operational Hiring Knowledge: Understanding of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or branch operations environments and the ability to recruit operational leadership talent.
· Tech Savvy: Proficiency in ATS platforms and recruiting analytics.
· Influence: Ability to build credibility and influence senior stakeholders.
· Communication: Excellent organizational and stakeholder management skills.
· Results Orientation: Track record of delivering against aggressive hiring goals while maintaining quality and candidate experience.
