Job Description
A nationally recognized engineering and advisory firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with deep expertise in healthcare facility design to join their growing team.
This is a highly technical, client-facing role for someone who thrives in complex, mission-critical environments and wants to lead meaningful projects from concept through construction. Responsibilities
- Serve as Designer of Record (DOR) on complex healthcare facility projects, leading mechanical design from start to finish
- Design HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems
- Define project scope, develop fee estimates, and manage budgets and schedules
- Collaborate with architects, medical planners, and clinical stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems with healthcare operations
- Support business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships
- Mentor junior engineers and deliver training on healthcare-specific codes and design strategies
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (Mechanical focus)
- 10+ years of mechanical building systems design experience, with at least 5 years focused on healthcare facilities
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems and controls in healthcare environments
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with IMC, IBC, IPC, ASHRAE 170, FGI Guidelines, and NFPA 99
LEED certification and Design-Build experience a plus
