Job Description
Lead the energy transition and shape what comes next. As the Senior Project Manager, you will play a key role in shaping WSP’s Energy strategy across eastern Canada and beyond. You will oversee one large or multiple smaller projects in terms of deliverables as agreed with the client for Energy projects.
Included within your responsibilities are driving the execution of programs and/or projects, working within the constraints of budget, schedule, and scope while managing risk and ensuring adherence to established processes and methodologies, and proactive project/client management. Additionally, you will be focused on enabling the growth of our business and strengthening our market position. Your proven track record and experience in project management, client relationship management, and account management will be key to success in this role.
Your Impact
- Lead the planning and delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects, providing technical direction and informed decision‑making from concept through execution.
- Define and manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and forecasts, proactively controlling risk, change, cost, and schedule performance.
- Build and lead high‑performing project teams through effective resourcing, mentoring, and collaboration across disciplines and stakeholders.
- Ensure project excellence by meeting technical, quality, safety, profitability, and client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Strengthen client relationships and support business growth through proposal development, contract negotiations, and strategic collaboration with leadership.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Minimum 18+ years’ experience in a Project Management or equivalent role within the Energy and/or Power Generation industry;
- Strong external network and track record managing client relationships;
- Completed formal training in project management, PMP certification preferred;
- Engineering degree in a related discipline or technical diploma from post‑secondary institution is an asset;
- Previous experience in an EPCM environment in the energy industry is an asset;
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (Power BI, SharePoint, Oracle);
- Commitment to mentoring, training, and retaining a focused team; the foresight and ability to delegate accordingly;
- Strong leadership capability as evidenced by demonstrable success in collaborative work environments;
- Fluently bilingual (English, French) is an asset.
Compensation
- BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $147,500 – $195,400
- MB & ON: $134,600 – $184,600
- Atlantic Provinces & QC: $133,200 – $176,900
