Senior Sales & Customer Success Specialist
The Furniture People - TFP Australia
Job Description
Senior Sales & Customer Success Specialist
This isn't just another remote sales job. It's an opportunity to build a long-term career with an Australian business and grow into a leadership role.
We're looking for someone who wants more than just closing sales.
This role has been created as part of our long-term leadership succession plan. Our goal is to develop the right person into one of the key leaders of our business over time. You'll be working directly with an Australian business owner—not through a call centre or outsourcing company.
You'll work closely with the business owner and our current Sales Lead to learn every part of the business. As you build your knowledge and confidence, you'll take on increasing responsibility with the goal of eventually leading our sales and customer experience function.
If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely grow, take ownership and become one of the key people in a business, we'd like to hear from you.
About Us
We are an established Australian furniture retailer selling high-quality furniture across Australia.
Our customers don't usually buy on impulse. They ask questions, compare products and often need guidance before making a decision. Once they purchase, they expect excellent communication and support until everything is delivered and complete.
Our reputation has been built on trust, honest advice and looking after our customers—not pressure selling.
What You'll Be Doing during your first few months
You'll learn how the business works from end to end, including:
- Product knowledge
- Zoho CRM
- Order processing
- Supplier ordering
- Delivery processes
- After-sales support
- Customer enquiries
- Complaint and warranty handling
We do this intentionally because we believe the best sales leaders understand everything that happens after a customer says \"yes.\"
As your training progresses
You'll gradually take ownership of:
- Responding to sales enquiries by phone, email and live chat
- Helping customers choose the right furniture
- Following up quotes and warm leads
- Closing high-value furniture sales
- Achieving monthly sales targets
- Keeping customers updated throughout their order
- Managing delivery enquiries
- Resolving customer complaints and warranty issues
- Working with suppliers and freight companies to solve problems
- Improving our sales and customer service processes
- Supporting and eventually helping lead our sales team
This Role Will Suit Someone Who
✔ Enjoys both sales and solving problems
✔ Is confident speaking with customers
✔ Stays calm under pressure and doesn't avoid difficult conversations
✔ Takes ownership and follows problems through until they're resolved
✔ Is organised and pays attention to detail
✔ Wants to understand how a business operates, not just how to make sales
✔ Is looking for a long-term career with increasing responsibility
✔ Comfortable making decisions without needing constant supervision
Experience
We're more interested in how you work than where you've worked.
Ideally you'll have experience in:
- High-value or consultative sales
- Following up leads and building customer relationships
- Handling customer complaints professionally
- Working with CRM systems
Furniture industry experience is a bonus, but not essential.
Working Hours
- 10:00am–4:00pm AEST (approximately 5:30am–11:30am IST during Australian winter and 4:30am–10:30am IST during daylight saving).
- 5 days per week (Weekend work is required on a roster)
- Fully remote
- Reliable internet connection required
Salary & Benefits
- Starting hourly rate equivalent to USD $6–10/hour, depending on your experience, skills and the value you bring to the role.
- As you develop, take on greater responsibility and progress into a leadership position, your hourly rate may increase to up to USD $15/hour, based on performance and demonstrated capability.
- Regular salary reviews based on performance and increased responsibilities
- Clear career progression into a leadership role
Recruitment Process
- Screening questions
- Skills assessment
- Interview
- Final interview
A Final Note
This isn't the right role for everyone.
We're not looking for someone who only wants to sell.
We're looking for someone who wants to understand the business, take ownership, solve problems, build strong customer relationships and eventually lead our sales and customer experience function.
We can teach you our products, systems and processes.
What we can't teach is ownership, confidence and the willingness to step up when things don't go to plan.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
