Senior Software Development Engineer

Audible is a leading producer and provider of audio storytelling with a global audience. The Fraud Defense Engineering team builds tooling, platforms, and automated systems that protect the integrity and trustworthiness of Audible’s business for creators, listeners, and customers. We focus on Fraud Defense — engineering detection mechanisms, investigation tools, and enforcement capabilities to defend against Creator Fraud, Anti-Piracy Fraud, and Consumer Fraud across marketplaces, while ensuring data handling and customer privacy obligations.

Role

Senior Software Development Engineer — you will define, design, and refine the technology that keeps Audible ahead, mentor teammates, and lead complex technical initiatives. You will help build and maintain our platform to deliver thousands of stories to millions of listeners and unleash the power of the human voice.

ResponsibilitiesIndependently lead complex technical initiatives within your team

Mentor and support other developers by cultivating curiosity and deep technical understanding

Explore technical needs and bring solutions to the table

Establish and follow good engineering practices

Basic Qualifications3+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems with distributed programming experience

Experience with AWS or cloud technologies

Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science or equivalent

Preferred QualificationsExperience (technical and operational) with multiple domain areas of programmatic advertising technologies (DSP, RTB, bid shading, machine learning optimization, ad verification, ad tracking, attribution, etc.)

Experience delivering technology products or services in a high growth environment

Experience building complex software systems delivered to customers, or experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team

Ability to manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, high-tech environment

Experience delivering test frameworks and tools, and leading QA projects and initiatives

Strong problem-solving skills in navigating complex and ambiguous situations
