What You’ll Do
Join a high-impact engineering team supporting an innovative new NAVAIR program! As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop and integrate advanced simulation software used to model aircraft avionics, mission systems, weapons, and data links. In this role you will work in an Agile development environment leveraging modern CI pipelines and Linux-based tools to build reliable, high-quality software that directly supports the development and testing of next‑generation naval aviation capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult requirements documentation, cybersecurity guidance, and coding standards when making code changes to ensure consistency, readability, and correctness.
- Utilize continuous integration (CI) and automation pipelines in a Linux environment to create reproducible, quality software executable.
- Conduct peer reviews to ensure accuracy and adherence to requirements and coding standards.
- Design and implement requirements and integrate software programs to model aircraft avionics, mission systems, weapons, and data links.
- Participate in sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives (story point assessment, etc.).
- Update PTRs in JIRA, write test scripts, and perform peer review of code.
- Work within the Agile methodology.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required.
- At least 10 years of related software engineering experience with modeling and simulation within the training and training systems domains.
- Expert‑level experience with hardware/software interface coding.
- High proficiency in coding with C++ and Ansible.
- Linux command line proficiency.
- Knowledge of networked simulation protocols such as DIS and HLA.
- Demonstrated experience in software engineering functions, e.g., requirement analysis and definition, configuration management, quality assurance, risk analysis/assessment, etc.

Security Clearance Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Salary Range
- Anticipated annual salary range is $135,000 – $160,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and skill set.
