Shift Lead — The Oinkster Eagle Rock
Base pay: $20 - $22hr/hour, depending on experience
Estimated total earnings with pooled tips: Approximately $25–$29/hour
Job type: Part-time
The Oinkster is a family-owned restaurant celebrating 20 years in Eagle Rock. We’ve been serving the neighborhood since 2006, and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Shift Lead to join our team.
This is a hands-on service position for someone who knows how to keep a busy shift organized while working alongside the team. The Shift Lead serves as the primary operational point person during assigned shifts, helping coordinate service and making sure our established procedures are followed. You should be comfortable working every station, communicating clearly, solving routine service issues, and stepping in wherever needed.
Responsibilities- Perform the same cooking, cashiering, expediting, cleaning, and guest-service work as the team
- Open or close the restaurant using established procedures
- Coordinate stations, breaks, and workflow according to the posted schedule and shift plan
- Assign routine service, prep, restocking, and cleaning tasks
- Help maintain food quality, order accuracy, and speed of service
- Ensure stations remain clean, organized, and properly stocked
- Complete opening, closing, cash-handling, safety, and sanitation checklists
- Train employees on established recipes, stations, equipment, and procedures
- Help new employees learn the restaurant’s normal workflow
- Handle routine guest questions and concerns within established guidelines
- Monitor inventory during the shift and report supply needs to the owner
- Document and report safety concerns, equipment problems, guest incidents, or employee conduct issues
- Maintain a calm, positive, and hospitality-focused environment
- Previous restaurant shift-lead or senior team-member experience
- Experience in a busy fast-casual, quick-service, or casual-dining restaurant
- Ability to perform and support all front- and back-of-house stations
- Strong hospitality and customer-service skills
- Clear communication and good judgment
- Ability to stay organized and composed during busy service
- Comfortable giving routine operational direction without creating unnecessary friction
- Toast point-of-sale experience is a plus
- A valid California Food Handler Card
