Shipping & Receiving/ Forklift Operator

Location: Deer Park, Tx 77536

Shift: 7am-4pm with possible OT

Pay Rate: $19-$20 DOE

Key Responsibilities

Material Handling & Forklift Operation

• Load & Unload: Safely operate heavy-duty sit-down or stand-up forklifts to unload inbound ocean containers/freight trucks and load outbound flatbeds or LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) carriers.
• Equipment Movement: Transport heavy automotive lifts, shop equipment, and components to designated warehouse staging or storage zones.
• Safety Inspections: Conduct daily pre-operational safety inspections on forklifts (checking fluids, brakes, hydraulics) and document findings according to OSHA guidelines.

Shipping & Receiving Logistics

• Verification: Verify incoming shipments against packing slips, bills of lading (BOLs), and purchase orders, reporting any damages or inventory discrepancies immediately.
• Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, strap, and label customer orders securely for transit, ensuring heavy units are properly balanced on pallets.
• Documentation: Prepare freight paperwork, generate LTL shipping labels, and track inventory movements using basic computer software or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

Warehouse Upkeep & Cross-Functional Support

• Inventory Control: Participate in routine cycle counts and physical inventory audits to maintain 100% accuracy.
• Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse environment.
• Cross-Support: (Depending on the specific Stratus facility) Assist team members with basic equipment verification, parts sorting, or minor customer support troubleshooting related to components.

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 1–3 years of proven experience operating industrial forklifts (sit-down/stand-up) in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Certification: Valid OSHA Forklift Certification (or the ability to pass an on-site practical evaluation).
• Tech Savvy: Basic computer literacy to handle inventory entries, shipping software, or email communication.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work cohesively in a team layout.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to repeatedly lift, push, or pull heavy components ranging from 50 to 75 lbs.
• Stamina to stand, bend, stoop, crouch, and operate heavy machinery throughout an 8-to-10 hour shift.
• Comfort working in a typical warehouse environment that may be subject to varying indoor temperatures or outdoor weather elements.
