This is a senior project delivery role requiring proven Irish experience in water, wastewater, drainage, or Uisce ireann infrastructure. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for project planning, programme delivery, commercial performance, client communication, local authority coordination, crew management, health and safety, quality and internal reporting.

The Role The Project Manager will oversee the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover. You will manage multiple crews and project teams while coordinating with Uisce ireann, local authorities, consultants, subcontractors, internal departments and other key stakeholders. The role requires a technically strong and commercially aware Project Manager who can control programme, cost, quality, risk and client expectations across complex civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities Project Planning and Delivery Review project drawings, specifications, contracts and scope requirements. Prepare detailed baseline programmes using Microsoft Project. Develop short-term and long-term delivery plans.

Monitor project progress against programme, budget and key milestones. Identify critical-path delays and implement practical recovery measures. Prepare and issue regular programme updates to clients and senior management.

Coordinate labour, plant, materials, subcontractors and project resources. Manage multiple crews operating across active Dublin sites. Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required technical standards.

Maintain overall control of project delivery from mobilisation through to completion. Client and Stakeholder Management Act as the main point of contact for clients and project stakeholders. Maintain strong working relationships with Uisce ireann, Irish Water representatives, local authorities and consultants.

Attend and lead progress, coordination and commercial meetings. Provide clear updates on programme, cost, risk, quality and site performance. Manage client expectations and resolve project issues professionally.

Coordinate road-opening requirements, permits, licences and local authority approvals. Liaise with designers, subcontractors, utility providers and internal teams. Present practical solutions to technical, operational and commercial challenges.

Maintain professional relationships across all stages of project delivery. Programme and Reporting Prepare, maintain and update detailed project programmes. Track progress and identify delays, risks and resource constraints.

Produce accurate internal and client-facing progress reports. Maintain complete and up-to-date project records. Ensure all documentation is properly controlled and issued on time.

Prepare reports covering labour, plant, materials, productivity and project performance. Monitor crew outputs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Ensure senior management receives timely and accurate project information.

Maintain reporting standards across all internal systems. Commercial Management Review project pricing, budgets and commercial targets. Monitor internal costs and expenditure throughout the project lifecycle.

Identify areas of financial underperformance and implement corrective actions. Understand the agreed contract scope and identify project variations. Maintain accurate supporting records for variations, claims and additional works.

Negotiate additional costs and project changes with clients where appropriate. Review and approve monthly progress claims. Work closely with Quantity Surveyors and the wider commercial team.

Ensure contractual notices are issued within required timeframes. Support the preparation and negotiation of extensions of time. Protect project profitability and commercial position.

Support the agreement of final accounts. Team and Crew Management Lead Site Agents, Engineers, Supervisors, Quantity Surveyors and field crews. Allocate responsibilities and ensure teams understand project priorities.

Coordinate multiple crews across several active locations. Monitor productivity, performance and workmanship. Provide clear direction and practical support to site teams.

Resolve operational issues quickly and effectively. Promote accountability, communication and teamwork. Ensure accurate daily records and site reporting are maintained.

Support the professional development of junior managers and engineers. Health, Safety and Quality Take ownership of health, safety, environmental and quality performance. Review and approve Risk Assessment Method Statements and pre-construction documentation.

Ensure all site activities comply with approved RAMS and safe systems of work. Carry out regular health and safety, environmental and quality audits. Ensure corrective actions are implemented without delay.

Maintain compliance with Uisce ireann, local authority, statutory and industry requirements. Promote a strong safety culture across all project teams. Ensure civil works meet approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.

Coordinate inspections, testing, snagging, commissioning and project handover. Maintain all required quality and completion records. Candidate Requirements Minimum Level 8 qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.

Proven experience working as a Project Manager within the Irish water, wastewater, utilities or civil infrastructure sector. Direct experience delivering projects involving Uisce ireann or Irish Water. Strong Irish construction and civil engineering experience.

Experience managing clients, local authorities, consultants and utility stakeholders. Proven ability to manage multiple crews and active project locations. Strong knowledge of project programming, cost control and commercial management.

Experience managing variations, claims, delays and contractual notices. Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within utilities and road-corridor environments. Ability to manage internal reporting systems and project documentation.

Strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills. Commercially aware with the confidence to challenge costs, resources and performance. Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and Outlook.

Full clean driving licence. Currently residing within commuting distance of Dublin. Full eligibility to work in Ireland.

Desirable Experience Experience in the following areas would be particularly valuable: Uisce ireann or Irish Water frameworks. Water and wastewater pipeline projects. Watermain rehabilitation and replacement.

Sewerage and drainage infrastructure. Pumping stations and treatment infrastructure. Pressure testing, chlorination and commissioning.

Road openings and reinstatement. Traffic management and road-corridor works. Local authority permits and coordination.

Underground services and utility diversions. Managing multiple crews across several locations. Public-sector infrastructure projects.

Salary and Package Salary of €70,000€100,000, depending on experience. Company vehicle and fuel card. Pension scheme.
