The Role
GrizzlyTrek is seeking one Software Developer to join our value‑added client's team in Montreal, Quebec. This is a full‑time contract position running approximately twelve months, with potential for extension beyond the initial term and potential to convert to a permanent position based on performance and business needs.
You will develop software modules against documented requirements and engineering standards, own the estimates and testing for the work you take on, and present your technical findings back to the engineering team. The role includes analyzing localization requirements and adapting products accordingly, so attention to detail and clear communication matter as much as clean code.
What You'll Do
- Develop software modules against documented requirements and engineering standards
- Review requirements, standards, and supporting documentation to clarify and confirm software engineering requirements
- Provide development estimates for assigned modules and for your own workload
- Develop software test requirements for modules under development
- Execute unit and integration tests and document the results
- Present technical findings and development progress to the project team
- Adhere to the software quality process through module, subsystem, and system test procedures
- Analyze localization requirements and design or adapt products and solutions accordingly
What You Bring
- 3 to 5 years of hands‑on software development experience
- Post‑secondary education in software engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline
- Demonstrated ability to develop against written requirements and engineering standards
- Experience writing and executing unit and integration tests
- Ability to estimate development effort accurately and manage your own workload
- Clear written and verbal communication for presenting technical findings
- Working proficiency in French and English
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with software localization or internationalization
- Background in the energy, power generation, or industrial technology sector
- Experience working within a formal software quality or compliance process
- Familiarity with Agile or iterative development practices
Work Environment
- On‑site position based in Montreal, Quebec
- Standard business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Collaborative software engineering team environment
- This position qualifies for overtime based on operational requirements
