Job Description
Overview
As a software engineer at Kyndryl, you will design, build, and maintain high‑volume business logic on the mainframe, and refactor legacy code to enable modern cloud and mobile applications to interact with core data.
Responsibilities
- Maintain performance: monitor architecture, identify optimization opportunities, and enhance mainframe performance.
- Debug and test: troubleshoot, analyze complex system interactions, and keep mission‑critical applications running.
- Develop for the future: extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud‑based services.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience as a software engineer on complex software projects.
- Strong coding skills in Java, Python, or .NET with debugging and problem‑solving expertise.
- Experience with software development methodologies and building scalable, robust software.
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, XML/JSON, and REST‑based web services.
- Understanding of architecture design—microservices, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), messaging queues.
- Deep understanding of OOP and design patterns.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Certification in one or more hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience with DevOps tools and modern engineering practices.
Compensation & Benefits
The U.S. base salary range is $115,080 to $218,520, varying by location. Eligibility for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, disability, retirement, paid leave, and paid time off.
