Position Summary
Extrahop is at the forefront of innovation in the cybersecurity space, delivering cutting‑edge solutions to protect organizations against evolving threats. Our Network Detection and Response (NDR) products empower businesses to detect, respond to and mitigate cyber risks in real time.
We seek a motivated and experienced Software Engineer II to join our dynamic product development team. In this role, you will take on more complex development challenges, contribute to architecture and design discussions, and help scale secure systems that power our core products. You will work with cross‑functional partners to deliver customer‑facing features that enable detection, visibility, and automation at scale.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy robust software components for our NDR products, taking ownership of moderately complex features with minimal guidance.
- Collaborate with product and architecture teams to translate business requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve production and performance issues, driving root‑cause analysis and preventive measures.
- Contribute to platform modernization initiatives and the adoption of new technologies or frameworks.
- Mentor junior team members through code pairing, reviews, and knowledge-sharing.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and agile methodology.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of professional experience developing production‑grade software.
- Solid knowledge of Go, Python, or an equivalent programming language.
- Proven ability to build and maintain distributed systems or cloud‑based services (AWS preferred).
- Understanding of REST APIs, microservice architecture, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to decompose complex problems into actionable engineering tasks.
- Excellent collaborator and communicator with a growth mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with machine learning applications in cybersecurity.
- Knowledge of tools and frameworks commonly used in NDR.
- Understanding of threat detection, intrusion prevention, and incident response strategies.
The salary range for this role is $145,000 - $160,000 + bonus + benefits.
