Certara is seeking a senior scientific leader to serve as a market-facing authority bridging our scientific innovations with customer needs and industry adoption. This role is primarily responsible for external engagement, scientific storytelling, and translating real-world insights into actionable input for product and commercial strategy.
As an Engineering Manager, you will be an active practitioner with a human/organizational specialty. You will have achieved (at some point in their career) the senior level or higher in one of the engineering or test disciplines. Your expertise in software development and commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant solutions for our customers will guide your day to day.
You will work with a variety of technologies and frameworks to complete tasks efficiently. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovative solutions in an agile environment and mentor and advise your director reports to maximize their impact. Responsibilities Responsible for the performance, health, and growth of team members Preempt distractions to engineering productivity Onboarding of new employees Regular 1:1 meetings with all reports to establish goals, develop growth plans, and provide and collect feedback; maintain visibility into the work of direct reports Be a flexible resource to the team and its members – deliver outcomes for all aspects of a software product Establishes and enforces standards across the assigned areas of influence Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization Able to identify and anticipate risks across an entire project and communicate them broadly and proactively to the appropriate audiences Provides leadership, mentoring, and guidance at all organizational levels and across multiple job functions Demonstrates best practices and guides lower levels through example Has end-to-end responsibility for projects of increasing complexity that encompass more than their own development; develops adoption plans for new tools or features of already-adopted technologies Curious by nature and identifies opportunities for innovation Keeps current on cutting‑edge technologies and educates others on them Demonstrates knowledge of strategic thinking, design, and systems development Analyzes engineering efforts to determine risks or sensitivities Adaptable to changing needs Qualifications 8+ years of experience in similar roles Experience working in a highly collaborative agile software organization Certara bases all employment-related decisions on merit, taking into consideration qualifications, skills, achievement, and performance.
