Multimedia Developer-EN
Join CAE as a Multimedia Developer–EN to design, develop, and implement interactive training programs and courseware for aviation training requirements.
Summary
The role applies the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) process, producing engaging digital learning materials, simulations, and interactive courseware. The developer integrates graphics, audio, video, and interactive elements into multiple delivery platforms to meet program standards and client requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with assigned experts to develop ISD products, reviewing and researching government furnished materials (GFMs).
- Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) and locate and extract information from GFMs, syllabus, course structure, and other ISD documents.
- Assist in developing multiple levels of training tasks and products against training requirements in accordance with instructional design processes.
- Develop training materials in a variety of media and design and develop training materials for delivery in various settings: classroom, computer-based training (CBT), aircrew training device (ATD), part task trainers (PTT), and video.
- Design, produce, and integrate 2D/3D graphics, animations, audio, and video assets for interactive applications.
- Implement interactivity and simulations using industry-standard technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, Unity/Unreal, SCORM/xAPI-compliant tools).
- Employ industry standard software and format technical documents to a specific standard; import supporting graphic content and prepare for distribution in the classroom.
- Review and edit training materials for proper grammar and visual appearance.
- Proactively prioritize efforts to meet course milestones and conduct peer reviews to verify production quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Design/Development, Instructional Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience developing interactive multimedia training or eLearning content (preferred).
- Experience with aviation or defense-related training programs highly desirable.
- Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision; overtime and any shift or day of the week may be required.
- Understanding of military protocols and customs preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance; incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance. Only U.S. citizens eligible for this role.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in HTML5, JavaScript, and modern web development frameworks/libraries (CreateJS, React, Angular, or similar).
- Familiarity with Unity, Unreal, or comparable tools for interactive simulation development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and basic web development/layout.
- Proficiency with multimedia authoring and design tools (Adobe Animate, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro).
- Experience with SCORM/xAPI standards and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Familiarity with major web browsers (Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome, Firefox).
Desired Skills
- Experience with UI/UX design principles.
- Basic digital audio and video editing.
- 3D modeling/animation using 3ds Max, Blender, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with instructional video scripting and production.
