Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and resourceful Special Education Teacher to join our educational team in the Santa Clarita area. This role is designed for an educator who is passionate about creating equitable learning opportunities for students with diverse learning needs. You will be responsible for designing and implementing individualized instruction that empowers students to reach their full academic and social potential.Key Responsibilities
IEP Leadership: Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique strengths and challenges.Instructional Adaptation: Modify and adapt general education curriculum to meet the needs of students in various settings (Resource, SDC, or Inclusion).Assessment: Conduct academic assessments and monitor progress toward IEP goals, using data to drive instructional decisions.Collaboration: Partner with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and service providers (SLPs, OTs) to ensure a cohesive support system.Case Management: Maintain compliant special education records and facilitate annual IEP meetings with parents and district stakeholders.Behavioral Support: Implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).Requirements & Qualifications
Certification: Must hold a valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild/Moderate or Extensive Support Needs).Intern-eligible candidates or those with out-of-state reciprocity are encouraged to apply.Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Special Education preferred.Endorsements: English Learner (EL) Authorization (e.g., CLAD/CTEL) is required.Clearances: Ability to pass a DOJ/FBI fingerprint background check and TB clearance.Skills: Strong organizational skills and proficiency with IEP management software (such as SEIS).Compensation & Benefits
