Salary: $77,422 - $107,500 per year (salary under review).What You’ll DoAs a Specialist in the Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) and Reliability Division, you will support the CNSC’s mandate by providing regulatory oversight and expertise in PSA and systems reliability engineering.Reporting to the Director, you will:Participate in the review of PSA and reliability submissions and provide regulatory recommendations.Participate in inspections and audits of licensees to evaluate compliance with regulatory requirements.Prepare Commission Members’ Documents and may participate in public Commission Meetings and license renewal hearings.Conduct regulatory research and coordinate research projects on risk and reliability.Participate in international forums (e.G., IAEA, OCDE/NEA).Essential QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering (or equivalent combination of education, experience, and knowledge).English language proficiency (essential).Experience & KnowledgePSA and reliability model development.Review of PSA, reliability, and PSA applications for nuclear power plants and small reactors.Familiarity with PSA computer codes such as CAFTA and R&R software suite.Knowledge of nuclear power plant design, operation, and safety analysis.Project management and coordination skills.Reliability engineering and PSA (Level 1 and Level 2 for internal and external events).Knowledge of nuclear reactor design and operation (including CANDU reactors).Knowledge of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Act, Regulations, supporting guidance, and relevant safety codes and standards (CSA, IAEA, ASME, etc.).Key Behavioural CompetenciesLive it – Model the CNSC values.Own it – Be accountable and achieve results.Build it – Collaborate effectively with others.Learn it – Commit to professional growth and personal leadership.Operational Needs & Hiring ConditionsAll CNSC staff are subject to the Mobility Directive.
