Job Description
Overview The Senior Program Planning and Scheduling Manager will oversee the development, management, and optimization of integrated master plans and schedules for the most complex and strategic aerospace and defense programs, ensuring alignment with program objectives and driving continuous improvement in project planning and execution. Responsibilities Oversee the preparation, development, and coordination of integrated master plans and schedules. Track and maintain project plans and schedules to guarantee horizontal and vertical integration across the enterprise.
Lead advanced risk analysis efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate significant schedule risks. Resolve critical path and network logic conflicts using techniques such as Gantt, PERT, and milestone charts. Evaluate schedule compliance at an organizational level and address major completion shortfalls through strategic interventions.
Prepare and present detailed reports on schedule status to senior stakeholders and executive leadership, providing actionable recommendations. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate, timely, and comprehensive scheduling data. Champion the development and implementation of advanced scheduling best practices.
Mentor junior and intermediate analysts on advanced scheduling techniques and best practices. Participate in strategic planning and decision‑making processes, leveraging scheduling expertise to shape organizational strategy. Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree targeting Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. 11+ years of program planning and scheduling experience, with at least 4+ years in a leadership role. 15+ years of related experience if a degree is not held.
Higher‑level relevant degree may substitute for experience. Proven leadership abilities, including change management, mentoring, and performance management. Advanced skills in Microsoft Project Professional (or similar) and familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) tools.
Experience developing and maintaining resource‑loaded integrated master schedules. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. We Prefer:
Extensive experience with Microsoft Project or a similar schedule toolset. In‑depth knowledge of EVM principles and systems. Familiarity with DCMA 14‑point & IPMDAR DI_MGMT‑81861.
Strong knowledge of Mil Standard 881. Experience with EVMS, critical path analysis, and schedule risk analysis. Proficiency in schedule performance and health metric analysis.
Knowledge of engineering design and lifecycle concepts. Expertise in Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development and WBS creation. Experience with resource leveling, driving path analysis, and conflict resolution.
Coaching, mentoring, and teaching team members. Ability to work across multiple software systems. Understanding of DoD, government contracting, and public auditing policies.
Essential Functions Work in an office or hybrid environment. Work on a computer for extended periods of time. Possess strong hand/finger dexterity for computer tasks.
