Staff Product Manager
Splash Financial
Job Description
Role Description Splash Financial is seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead the launch and scale of our HELOC business, one of the highest-leverage growth bets in the company today. We're moving beyond a brokered lending model into full in-house underwriting and origination, bringing ownership of decisioning, verification, valuation, document generation, and closing in-house rather than relying on outside partners for that experience. You'll own the roadmap end-to-end: eligibility and decisioning, income and identity verification, property valuation, document generation and e-signing, and funding, along with the compliance-critical infrastructure that a home-secured lending product demands, including licensing and state disclosure timing requirements.
You'll partner directly with Engineering, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Capital Markets, and you'll have direct visibility with our CPO and executive leadership given how central this bet is to the company's growth strategy. This is a rare opportunity to take a product from early-stage to scaled, in-house lending infrastructure, with the autonomy and stakes of a true 0-to-1 build. What You’ll Do at Splash Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for HELOC in-house underwriting: decisioning, borrower and property verification, document generation, funding, closing, and loan sales.
Lead vendor and lending-partner strategy, evaluating and integrating third-party providers for valuation, document generation, and verification, and working with capital partners to expand program capacity and coverage. Build the scaling roadmap beyond launch: multi-partner program support, state and geographic expansion, repricing and fee structures, underwriting efficiency improvements, and the post-close servicing infrastructure the business doesn't yet have. Partner closely with Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Marketing, and Capital Markets to sequence delivery, manage licensing and regulatory requirements, and keep the business unblocked through a leadership transition.
Use funnel, conversion, and portfolio data to define success metrics, prioritize ruthlessly against engineering capacity, and communicate tradeoffs clearly to executive stakeholders. Qualifications 8+ years of product management experience, including Staff-level or equivalent scope, with direct experience in mortgage, HELOC, secured lending, or complex regulated consumer lending products. A proven track record owning ambiguous 0-to-1 builds through to scale, ideally including experience standing up or migrating loan origination and underwriting infrastructure.
Strong fluency with lending compliance and disclosure requirements (state-level timing rules, fair lending reporting, licensing) and comfort partnering closely with Risk, Compliance, and Legal. Vendor and partner relationship management experience: evaluating, negotiating, and integrating third-party providers into a live production system. Excellent executive communication skills, with the ability to frame open-ended tradeoffs as clear decisions, manage cross-functional stakeholders, and “own it,” “raise the bar,” and “say the hard thing” while elevating the team around you.
Compensation The base salary range for this role is $180,000 to $220,000 annually, based on market data and internal compensation practices. This role may also be eligible for a bonus component tied to individual and company performance. Final compensation will be determined by factors such as location, experience, and skill level.
