Job Summary

Maintains an acceptable level of cleanliness and an improved aesthetic environment for the Surgical department. Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks and daily and terminal cleaning of operating rooms.

Job Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Environmental services experience: Preferred

Essential Functions

• Performs routine cleaning of operating rooms, nursing units, departments, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways.
• Assists Operating Room team with case cart, equipment, and supply needs; distributes, collects and processes linens; assists with additional duties such as cryo‑machine, autoclave room, ordering food.
• Assists with transport and moving patients; obtains inpatient beds, changes beds and gurneys as needed.
• Sets up rooms based on procedure and surgeon preference with proper equipment, beds and positioning adjuncts.
• Performs terminal cleaning of surgical suites daily; hallways, sterile processing, sterile core, sub‑sterile rooms, anesthesia work room, ancillary rooms and other areas weekly.
• Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
