Job Description – Structural Engineer (PMCM Projects)

Position: Structural Design Engineer

Location: Mumbai

Qualification

- Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

Experience

- Minimum 12-18 years of experience in structural engineering.

- Mandatory experience in high-rise building construction projects.

- Experience with multinational construction companies, EPC contractors, or PMC/PMCM organizations is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and monitor structural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, design specifications, project standards, and applicable codes.

- Coordinate with the Client, design consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams on all structural engineering matters.

- Review structural calculations, shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals submitted by contractors.

- Monitor construction activities to ensure structural works are executed in accordance with approved designs and quality requirements.

- Identify structural design or construction issues and recommend appropriate technical solutions.

- Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to verify compliance with project specifications and engineering standards.

- Coordinate structural interfaces with architectural and MEP disciplines to ensure smooth project execution.

- Ensure compliance with Samsung C&T PMCM standards, quality requirements, HSE regulations, and statutory codes.

- Support project planning, progress monitoring, and technical reporting.

- Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and project coordination meetings with stakeholders.

- Assist in resolving technical queries, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and engineering change requests.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steel design and construction.

- Thorough understanding of high-rise building structural systems, construction methodologies, and engineering standards.

- Familiarity with international design codes and relevant Indian Standards.

- Proficiency in reviewing structural drawings and engineering documentation.

- Working knowledge of engineering software such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.

- Excellent analytical, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a multinational PMCM project environment.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in commercial, mixed-use, residential, or institutional high-rise building projects.

- Experience in design coordination, structural quality assurance, and contractor management within PMCM or PMC projects.
