Metric Bio is proud to be working with our latest client , a growing, private equity-backed specialty generic pharmaceutical company based in the Princeton, New Jersey area. The organization maintains a portfolio of more than 50 approved prescription and over-the-counter products and holds a leading position in Soft-Gel capsule manufacturing. Supported by institutional healthcare investors and an integrated platform spanning R&D, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, and commercial distribution, the company is entering a period of significant growth as it expands beyond its core retail generics business into institutional and 505(b)(2) branded product markets.
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Vice President of Sales, Distribution & Commercial Operations to join its Leadership Team with full P&L accountability for the Rx business. This executive will be responsible for building the commercial infrastructure required to support the Company's expansion into institutional and hospital channels, as well as the 505(b)(2) branded and differentiated product space. The role requires an executive equally capable of setting long-term commercial strategy and addressing operational priorities such as chargeback accuracy, contract compliance, and distribution economics.

Key Responsibilities
- Own full P&L accountability for the Rx business, including revenue, gross-to-net, trade spend, distribution costs, and commercial SG&A
- Lead and scale the national sales organization across wholesalers, retail chains, and group purchasing organizations, while building new commercial capability for institutional and 505(b)(2) channels
- Direct the full contract lifecycle, including chargeback structuring, WAC/net pricing strategy, rebate agreements, and GPO/IDN contracting
- Identify and resolve sources of chargeback and deduction leakage, and establish disciplined gross-to-net forecasting in partnership with Finance
- Oversee commercial operations and customer service standards across trade and institutional accounts
- Develop and implement a specialty pharmacy distribution capability and optimize the Company's broader distribution network
- Lead go-to-market strategy and launch planning for institutional and 505(b)(2) market entry
- Build, mentor, and develop the sales, contracts, commercial operations, and distribution organization
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required. MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
- A minimum of 15 years of progressive commercial leadership experience within the generic or specialty pharmaceutical industry, including 5-7 or more years in a senior role with direct P&L accountability
- Comprehensive knowledge of generic pharmaceutical trade dynamics, including chargebacks, GPO and rebate structures, WAC/net pricing, and gross-to-net mechanics
- Demonstrated success building or scaling institutional and hospital channel commercial operations
- Direct experience commercializing 505(b)(2) or other differentiated and branded generic products, including pricing, market access, and launch strategy
- Proven track record establishing specialty pharmacy distribution capabilities and resolving chargeback or deduction leakage
- Preferred: established relationships with major wholesalers, retail chains, GPOs, and IDNs. Experience within a private equity-backed or high-growth commercial environment
