Tax Manager

Oakland, CA – hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee tax engagements for business and individual clients.
• Review tax filings, research technical matters, and provide planning and advisory support.
• Develop practical solutions to tax‑related issues and communicate recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Manage client relationships, engagement timelines, and overall service delivery.
• Mentor and develop team members while reviewing work for quality and accuracy.
• Support process improvements and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

Requirements

• 7+ years of tax experience within public accounting or a professional services environment.
• Strong background in tax compliance, research, planning, and advisory services.
• Proven ability to manage client engagements and balance multiple priorities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and relationship‑management skills.
• CPA, EA, or comparable tax credential preferred.

Compensation

Determining compensation for this role depends upon a wide array of factors, including but not limited to: the individual's skill sets, experience, and training; licensure and certifications; office location and other geographic considerations; and other business and organizational needs. Salaries may vary accordingly and the individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and participation in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
