Position SummaryThe Tax Preparer & Bookkeeper is responsible for managing both tax preparation and day-to-day financial recordkeeping for the organization. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with tax regulations, and organized bookkeeping processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable in tax laws, and experienced in maintaining financial records.

Key ResponsibilitiesTax Preparation & ComplianceGather and review financial information from clients or internal recordsPrepare and complete accurate tax returns in a timely mannerVerify the accuracy of all financial data and tax filingsFile federal, state, and local tax returns in compliance with deadlinesMaintain organized records of all tax-related documents and filingsStay current on changes in tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements

Bookkeeping & Financial ManagementHandle day-to-day financial recordkeeping to ensure accuracy and organizationTrack income and expenses to maintain clear financial visibilityManage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and payment trackingReconcile bank statements and resolve discrepanciesMaintain and update the general ledgerEnsure financial data is accurate, up-to-date, and properly documented

QualificationsExperience in tax preparation and bookkeeping or related fieldStrong understanding of financial principles and accounting practicesKnowledge of current tax laws and regulationsHigh attention to detail and accuracyStrong organizational and time management skillsProficiency in accounting and tax software
