Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Tax Senior to join our Manufacturing/Distribution tax and practice group. This candidate will prepare and review domestic and multinational business tax returnsto ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as international tax filings when required. Tasks will include preparing intermediate level returns, reviewing basic tax return engagements, as well as researching and consulting on tax matters.
The Tax Senior is responsible for supervising, motivating, and developing our tax associates to become future members of this industry group.
ResponsibilitiesApply tax knowledge to intermediate and complex, multi-state business tax returns Perform ASC 740 (income tax accounting/tax provisions) computations and reporting Ability to prepare and/or review complete set of financial statements Work effectively in analyzing business transactionsPerform complete and efficient reviews of business tax returnsGather data from customer, Assurance department, and third party sourcesPerform tax research with view for alternatives to satisfy customer's objectivesResolve all open items/issues encountered on assigned engagementsActively monitor engagement economics by managing budgets and seeking efficienciesDirect and control concurrent assignments to successful completion Develop and lead associates through engagements, delegate assignments and tasks when appropriateProvide honest, objective and constructive feedback in timely manner to associatesCollaborate to identify and sell opportunities among existing customers Serve as a mentor and role model through active participation in firm committees, departmental matters, and events Active in recruitment of new and experienced associates
RequirementsBachelor's degree or Master's degree in accounting, finance, mustSignificant progress toward EA License or CPA certification, preferredMinimum 4 years of recent public accounting firm experience Experience with corporate tax accounting/tax provisions, ASC 740 preferredInternational tax experience, a plusStrong oral and written communication skills Effective analytical and problem-solving ability Strong time and work management skills
Working EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is expected to work in our office. Flexibility is granted to employees to work remotely on an as-needed basis.
Position Type / Expected Billable Hours of WorkFull-time / 40 hours per week, with some overtime as required. Busy Season / Extended hours required, will scale up not to exceed 65 -70 hours per week.
