Job Description
The Vacancy We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, well-qualified and experienced teacher, committed to enabling students to realise their highest academic potential. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who will convey an enthusiasm for his/her subject to the students he/she teaches and will play an active role in school co-curricular performances. The post will involve 3 days per week.
The post-holder will accompany soloists and groups for examinations and performances and may lead the school junior and senior productions. The post-holder will be responsible for directing either the Choir, Jazz Band or Orchestra, to be confirmed at interview. Essential criteria 1.
Qualified teacher status as recognised by the Department of Education NI and registered with GTCNI by time of appointment. 2. An Honours degree in Music 2.2 or above. 3. Experience of teaching Music up to and including GCSE; within the last 5 years. 4.
Piano Grade 7 standard. Desirable criteria • Piano Grade 8 standard. • Ability to teach composition at GCSE. • A proven record of contribution to concerts and musical productions. • A proven record of leading ensembles. Remuneration An honorarium will be allocated to the post to reflect the co-curricular role and commitment.
