About This Role
We're seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teacher to join our team at Small Steps Childcare & Early Learning Center, where you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of children and families.

What You'll Do
Your Role
As a Teacher, you'll be responsible for leading by example, creating a cohesive teaching team, and coordinating a curriculum that supports children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with early learning standards to foster children’s growth and development.
- Lead by example and foster a positive and collaborative team environment through modeling and coaching.
- Plan and lead engaging activities that encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.
- Maintain open and regular communication with families through progress updates, parent-teacher conferences, and other opportunities.
- Ensure the center remains a safe and secure environment by adhering to policies and regulations.
- Support and supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to uphold classroom standards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for children’s progress and classroom activities, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Commit to ongoing professional development to continuously enhance the quality of care and education.
Requirements
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- Kind and Caring Demeaner
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- A strong understanding of child development.
