Technical AssistantLocation - NorthamptonPay - £14.00 - £15.00 per hourHours - 40-45 hours per week + overtime available A well-established food manufacturing business is looking for a hands-on Technical Assistant to join its growing technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with food manufacturing or quality experience who enjoys being on the factory floor and working closely with production teams to maintain high food safety and quality standards. This is not a desk-based role - the successful candidate will play a key part in day-to-day factory operations, ensuring compliance, hygiene, GMP, and product quality standards are consistently achieved.Key responsibilities include:Supporting food safety, quality, and compliance systems across the siteMonitoring hygiene, GMP, and production standards on the factory floorAssisting with HACCP documentation, traceability, and technical recordsCarrying out product sampling, microbiological swabbing, and quality testingSupporting third-party audits including BRCGS and retailer auditsWorking closely with production teams to maintain standards and resolve issuesAssisting with investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement projectsSupporting staff training and promoting a strong food safety cultureWhat We're Looking ForPrevious experience within food manufacturing, quality, or technical environmentsComfortable working in a fast-paced production settingStrong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and GMP standardsExcellent attention to detail and organisational skillsConfident communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyGood IT skills, including Microsoft OfficeDesirableFood Safety Level 2 or 3 qualificationKnowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, and retailer standardsAudit experience or audit support experienceExperience within meat manufacturing or high-risk food productionWhat's on OfferCompetitive hourly payFull-time, stable hours with overtime opportunitiesLong-term career development opportunitiesSupportive and professional working environmentOpportunity to join a growing and well-established food manufacturing businessApply now with your CV for immediate consideration to discuss further with Gabriella Saunders at ACS Staffing Solutions
