Job Description
Role Summary: To have responsibility for the efficient operation of the ships to which he/she has been assigned and to work as a member of the Ship Management Team operating to Company procedures and best ship management practices whilst always giving absolute regard to safety of life at sea and protection of the environment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure Health and Safety is always adhered to.

Role and ResponsibilitiesWhen receiving requests from vessel, send RFQ to various suppliers for quotation.Compare prices in our purchasing system DNV and submit for vessel manager approval.Once the order is approved, send an order the supplier and follow up delivery to the warehouse or vessel.When the order is delivered onboard/ warehouse, follow up for the invoice and approve in DNV for payment.Coordinate with accounts for any issues and resolve them from time to time.The order list to be maintained very minimum in DNV and provide status to the vessel every month.Support Superintendents in day-to-day activities and dry-docking planning activities.The input of vessel and office requisitions to the DNV system were necessary, clarifying any additional information as required in a timely and reliable manner.Select suppliers from the approved supplier's lists, issue enquiries and orders, using group contracts where applicable.Co-ordinate delivery of ship spares and stores that are consolidated in warehouse globally and connect them onboard via air, road or sea freight.Manage the progress and delivery of orders on board, resolve any discrepancies as advised by vessel, or with suppliers.Ensure the competitiveness of purchasing functions. Clearing the invoices as per the due date.Co-ordinate the most cost-effective freight and delivery of supplies to the vessel.Ensure all activities are carried out and comply according to the company's regulations.Any other duty assigned by purchase manager or vessel manager.
RequirementsGraduate preferably mechanical engineering function.Minimum 4-5 years of experience in maritime purchasing and global logistics.Proven Track record in sourcing, negotiation and supplier management.Should work independently having a personal drive and a strategic mind set.Good internal and external stakeholder management.
