Technology Risk Manager

We are working with a leading international law firm to hire a Technology Risk Manager based within their Risk and Compliance function in London. In this role, you will operate as part of the first line of defence to identify, assess, manage, and report on risks across data, artificial intelligence, operational resilience, and general technology operations. The firm is looking for an experienced professional with a proven track record in technology risk management or technology audit, ideally gained within a regulated or professional services environment.

They are seeking candidates who possess an exceptional ability to communicate complex concepts persuasively to senior stakeholders, combined with strong influencing skills to drive consensus across various organisational functions. The ideal applicant will bring a passion for enabling safe business innovation alongside a meticulous attention to detail and a thorough understanding of first line of defence responsibilities. The responsibilities will include: Partnering with technology leadership to embed pragmatic risk management into daily operational processes, delivery lifecycles, and third-party supplier relationships.

Translating regulatory and internal requirements into practical controls, whilst maintaining the comprehensive technology risk register. Independently validating data governance frameworks and assessing the design and effectiveness of key controls. Managing and embedding artificial intelligence risk management for both internal and client-facing use cases, including conducting product risk assessments.

Partnering with cyber security teams to ensure security risks are documented and actively managed, whilst assisting with formal risk acceptances. Assessing and reporting on technology operations risk, including availability, change release, service stability, and disaster recovery planning. Supporting audits, second line reviews, and regulatory requests through clear reporting and governance committee engagement.
