Support vulnerable individuals as a Telephone Crisis Assistant at Nisa Foundation, remotely based in Calgary. This role emphasizes crisis communication and peer support for women and families in need.
The contract for eight weeks demands your commitment to answering the Centralized Nisa Line and providing crucial triage assistance. This position is tailored for students or recent graduates in social work, psychology, or community services, with a focus on gaining practical experience through structured training.
Key Responsibilities: • Respond to calls, texts, and chats during scheduled shifts • Implement short triage assessments using provided scripts • Connect callers to Tier 2 services when necessary • Offer accurate information and emotional support • Provide multilingual assistance in English and another language
Requirements: • Must be a student or recent graduate in relevant fields • Strong communication skills for sensitive situations • Ability to manage stress and maintain professionalism • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and online communication • Legally permitted to work in Canada, ages 15-30
