Position Overview
As a co-op/intern student at BMO, you will be part of our campus program designed to integrate you into the BMO team from day one, adding value through your work. You will have the opportunity to participate in programs such as Women in Technology Mentorship, BMO Social Squad student‑led activities, BMO Academy corporate learning platform, and various Employee Resource Groups to further develop your network within BMO.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and deliver operational processes to ensure timely and accurate processing of securities and trade transactions.
- Ensure trade bookings are correct in systems for clean downstream settlement.
- Support and execute the booking of new strategies and daily capture of transactional information for downstream analytics and financial accounting.
- Maintain governance and controls over the trade capture process.
- Gather and format data into regular and ad‑hoc reports, dashboards, and other documentation.
- Execute routine tasks such as service requests, transactions, queries within relevant service level agreements.
- Function as a problem‑solving resource for more junior staff.
- Follow documented policies and procedures to execute day‑to‑day transactions and activities, ensuring all SLAs are met.
- Check and reconcile information and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
- Identify and analyze issues and problems, resolve discrepancies timely, and deal with clients directly to resolve trade issues or escalate as required.
- Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to execute work and fulfill service delivery expectations.
- Collaborate in the development/implementation of current processes/systems and changes/improvements to existing systems and processes.
- Understand the regulatory requirements and operational risks, ensuring appropriate actions are taken and integrity maintained.
- Support the development of tools and delivery of training focused on delivering business results.
- Complete complex and diverse tasks within given rules/limits and may include handling escalations from other employees.
- Analyze issues and determine next steps, taking measured risks while protecting the bank by applying the Risk Management Framework.

- Knowledge and experience using relevant systems and technology – Good.
- Knowledge of the business unit’s key products, services, processes and controls – Good.

Salary
$38,500.00 - $71,000.00 (Salaried). Salaries vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year.
