Vice President Project Development

Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Project/Construction Head to lead end-to-end execution of greenfield power/energy/solar/hydro/wind projects, including plant setup from scratch (manufacturing + EPC). The role will be responsible for project planning, execution, cost control, and delivery while ensuring adherence to timelines, quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project & Construction Management

• Lead end-to-end execution of greenfield projects (site selection → commissioning → handover)
• Drive construction of power plants and manufacturing facilities from ground-up
• Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and safety norms
• Oversee civil, mechanical, electrical, and EPC activities

Planning & Execution

• Develop project plans, budgets, and resource allocation strategies
• Monitor project schedules, milestones, and critical paths
• Implement project governance frameworks and reporting mechanisms

Vendor & Contractor Management

• Manage EPC contractors, vendors, and consultants
• Lead contract negotiations, procurement, and vendor performance management
• Ensure cost optimization and timely delivery from partners

P&L and Cost Management

• Own project budgets, cost control, and financial planning
• Drive cost efficiencies, margin improvement, and risk mitigation
• Track Capex, ROI, and project profitability

Regulatory & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, environmental norms, and safety standards
• Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and local stakeholders

Stakeholder Management

• Engage with internal leadership, investors, and external partners
• Provide regular project updates, risk assessments, and mitigation plans
• Act as the single point of accountability for project delivery

Team Leadership

• Build and lead high-performing project and site teams
• Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil); MBA preferred
• 18–32 years of experience in Power / Renewable Energy / Solar / EPC/manufacturing
• Proven experience in greenfield project execution (plant setup from scratch)
• Strong exposure to construction, EPC, and manufacturing plant setup
• Demonstrated experience in handling large-scale Capex projects and P&L ownership
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, safety, and compliance
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and vendor management skills

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in solar parks, renewable energy plants, or energy infrastructure projects
• Exposure to module manufacturing / battery / energy storage plants
• Experience working with large EPC players or energy companies
