Job Overview
The Vice President of Human Resources provides strategic leadership and executive oversight for all HR functions, ensuring excellence in workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, compliance, and organizational development. This role drives company culture, strengthens organizational values, and ensures HR programs align with the mission, vision, and strategic goals of the organization. The VP of HR serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and leads a high‑performing HR team in delivering efficient, compliant, and people‑centered services.
Essential Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Culture
- Provide vision, direction, and executive oversight for the Human Resources department.
- Partner with the CEO and senior leadership to execute organizational strategy, mission, and values.
- Strengthen company culture through policy development, leadership alignment, and consistent communication.
- Identify opportunities to enhance HR systems, technology, and processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Workforce Planning & Organizational Development
- Lead workforce planning initiatives to ensure appropriate staffing levels across departments.
- Review productivity and staffing ratio reports to maintain operational efficiency.
- Develop programs to address talent gaps, support employee development, and promote diversity and inclusion.
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment Oversight
- Oversee the recruitment team and ensure consistent, high‑quality hiring practices.
- Approve recruitment requests, job descriptions, and compensation ranges in alignment with finance and industry standards.
- Guide hiring strategy, resolve recruitment challenges, and support pay negotiations.
- Ensure orientation schedules and hiring timelines align with operational needs.
Onboarding, Licensing & Compliance
- Oversee onboarding operations and ensure a seamless Day 1 experience for all new hires.
- Manage licensing workflows for intake and licensed staff, including education, testing, DFS appointments, and renewals.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including DOH, UASNY access, and audit standards.
Compensation, Payroll & Benefits
- Provide executive oversight of payroll and benefits administration.
- Review payroll summaries, bonuses, and nonstandard increase requests for accuracy and alignment with performance and finance benchmarks.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex benefits questions and 401k approvals.
- Ensure accurate timesheet approvals and payroll compliance across the organization.
Performance Management & Employee Relations
- Oversee the performance review process, including 360/90 evaluations and performance improvement plans.
- Provide guidance on disciplinary actions, accommodations, and complex employee relations matters.
- Co‑lead termination decisions and ensure proper documentation and communication.
- Maintain oversight of the HR inbox and ensure timely, high‑quality responses to employee needs.
Legal, Investigations & Risk Management
- Serve as the primary liaison with legal counsel for employee issues, complaints, and litigation.
- Lead internal investigations and ensure accurate documentation, timelines, and case management.
- Oversee unemployment claims, appeals, workers’ compensation cases, and HR‑related audits.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
Policy Development & Compliance
- Update the employee handbook biannually and develop new policies as needed.
- Ensure consistent application of policies across the organization.
- Oversee compliance with remote work policies, including IP address audits and geographic employment restrictions.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Office Management on equipment approvals, desk assignments, transportation requests, and HR postings.
- Collaborate with Training and Operations to support LMS reporting and training alignment.
- Support organizational communications, including employee and provider newsletters.
Leadership Communications & Events
- Lead executive roundtable meetings, including agenda development and facilitation.
- Oversee newsletter content, design coordination, and distribution.
- Support organizational events, surveys, and internal communications initiatives.

- Proven experience as a Human Resources Executive.
- Demonstrated success leading HR teams and managing complex HR operations.
- Deep knowledge of HR principles, regulations, and best practices.
