The company also cultivates an engaged online community, sharing updates and behind-the-scenes insights into its culinary journey.Role Description The Accountant at Hungry Gator will handle day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, maintaining general ledgers, and preparing periodic financial statements and reports. Responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and vendor accounts, monitoring cash flow, and assisting with budgeting and cost control for culinary and retail operations.
The role will support compliance with tax regulations and internal financial policies, coordinate with auditors, and help implement efficient accounting processes and tools. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, working closely with operations, procurement, and management to ensure accurate financial tracking and support business decision-making.Qualifications Candidates should possess core accounting skills such as general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable handling, and financial statement preparation.Candidates should possess skills in financial analysis, budgeting, and cost control to support pricing, inventory management, and profitability of food operations.Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting software and tools, such as ERP systems, spreadsheets, and digital documentation platforms.Candidates should possess knowledge of relevant taxation, compliance, and regulatory requirements applicable to food and retail businesses.Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and present financial insights clearly.A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field is preferred; professional certifications (e.g., CA Inter, CMA, CPA equivalent) are an advantage.Prior experience in F&B, retail, or hospitality accounting is beneficial, along with familiarity with inventory accounting and cost of goods sold tracking.
