LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing and well-established construction services organization in North County San Diego to identify an experienced Accounts Receivable & Billing Specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced project environment and has experience supporting construction billing and collections processes.The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction contracts, project billing, lien documentation, and customer account management. This role offers the opportunity to join a collaborative team with long-term growth potential.ScheduleMonday through Friday7:00 AM - 4:30 PMKey ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review, and process customer invoices for construction and project-based workGenerate and submit AIA billings and progress billings in accordance with contract requirementsManage lien waivers, unconditional and conditional releases, and related compliance documentationPrepare and track preliminary notices and ensure compliance with project-specific requirementsMonitor customer accounts and conduct collections activities on past-due balancesReconcile billing discrepancies and resolve customer inquiries regarding invoices and paymentsCoordinate with project managers and operations teams to ensure billing accuracy and timely invoicingTrack retention balances, change orders, contract values, and payment applicationsMaintain organized project documentation and customer recordsSupport month-end close activities related to accounts receivable and billing functionsAssist with cash application, account reconciliations, and reporting as neededQualifications3+ years of accounts receivable, billing, or project accounting experiencePrevious construction industry experience strongly preferredHands-on experience with:AIA BillingProgress BillingLien Waivers and ReleasesPreliminary NoticesRetention TrackingChange Orders and Contract BillingExperience working with Textura, Procore, or similar construction management software preferredIntermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including:Pivot TablesVLOOKUP/XLOOKUPData analysis and reportingStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyExcellent communication and customer service skillsPreferred ExperienceElectrical, mechanical, general contracting, specialty contracting, or commercial construction experienceExperience supporting large-scale commercial construction projectsFamiliarity with subcontractor compliance documentation and payment processingExposure to ERP or accounting systems such as Vista, Spectrum, Sage, Foundation, COINS, JD Edwards, or similar platformsWhy Consider This Opportunity?Temp-to-hire opportunity with long-term stabilityGrowing organization with a strong industry reputationCollaborative and supportive team environmentOpportunity for schedule flexibility upon permanent hireCompetitive compensation and benefits package upon conversionPay Details: $28.84 to $33.65 per yearSearch managed by: Erin Kile Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
