Job Description
We are looking for a result-oriented and experienced API Sales Manager to drive the growth of our Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) business in Poland and the European pharmaceutical market. The ideal candidate should possess 05-10 years of experience in pharmaceutical API sales, business development, customer relationship management, and market expansion.
The role demands strong commercial acumen, market intelligence, and the ability to build long-term strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors, and healthcare companies.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
API Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
- Source and procure Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) from qualified global manufacturers and suppliers to support business and customer requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop strategic API suppliers in compliance with GMP, regulatory, and quality standards.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, supply agreements, and long‑term procurement contracts to optimize cost, quality, and continuity of supply.
- Collaborate closely with Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Technical teams to ensure timely sourcing, qualification, and product availability.
- Monitor global API market trends, raw material pricing, supplier capacities, and geopolitical risks to develop effective sourcing strategies.
- Manage supplier performance through regular reviews, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, delivery timelines, and quality expectations.
- Support new product sourcing, alternate vendor development, and risk mitigation initiatives to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Market Analysis & Strategy
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify business opportunities and market trends.
- Monitor industry developments, pricing trends, and regulatory updates impacting API sales.
- Prepare sales forecasts, market reports, and business plans for management review.
Customer Relationship Management
- Handle customer inquiries, negotiations, and contract discussions effectively.
- Coordinate with technical, regulatory, and supply chain teams to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and timely resolution of commercial issues.
Product Promotion & Commercial Activities
- Promote API products through customer meetings, presentations, exhibitions, and industry events.
- Support new product introductions and commercialization activities.
- Collaborate with marketing teams for promotional campaigns and branding initiatives.
Supply Chain & Coordination
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely order execution and product delivery.
- Monitor inventory planning and demand forecasting to avoid supply disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and pharmaceutical industry regulations.
- Support tender submissions and commercial documentation where applicable.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and commercial agreements with customers and partners.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 05–10 years of experience in API sales within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven track record in pharmaceutical business development and key account management.
- Strong understanding of API products, pharmaceutical markets, and industry regulations.
- Experience working with European pharmaceutical clients and distributors preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel within Poland and across Europe as required.
