Location: Chennai And Indore
Experience: Minimum 3+ years of Australian Accounting & Taxation experience (in addition to Indian accounting experience)
Education: No Bar (Relevant experience preferred)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Australian Taxation & Accounting to lead a team and manage accounting, taxation, and compliance activities for Australian clients. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of Australian SME taxation, financial reporting, and compliance requirements, along with prior team management experience.
Key Responsibilities
Australian Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review financial statements for Australian entities in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records and financial reports.
- Review month-end and year-end accounting processes.
- Handle client queries related to accounting and financial reporting matters.
Australian Taxation & Compliance
- Prepare and review income tax returns for Australian entities, including companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
- Ensure timely compliance with Australian taxation regulations and statutory requirements.
- Apply and advise on SME-related tax provisions, concessions, and compliance requirements.
- Review BAS, GST, PAYG, FBT, and other relevant tax lodgments.
- Monitor changes in Australian tax legislation and assess their impact on clients.
Team Management
- Manage, mentor, and supervise a team of 3–4 accounting and taxation professionals.
- Allocate work, monitor productivity, and ensure timely delivery of assignments.
- Conduct quality reviews and provide technical guidance to team members.
- Support training and development initiatives within the team.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong relationships with Australian clients and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of deliverables.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in Australian Accounting & Taxation, over and above experience in Indian accounting.
- Strong experience in the preparation and review of:
- Financial Statements of Australian entities
- Australian Income Tax Returns
- BAS/GST returns and related compliance
- Thorough understanding of Australian SME taxation provisions and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing and leading a team of 3–4 members.
- Strong analytical, review, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
