About the function The Corporate Legal Team at Godrej Industries Group plays a pivotal role in managing litigation, overseeing contract negotiations and providing strategic legal counsel on complex projects and transactions. Collaborating closely with senior leadership, the team ensures seamless legal support across the organisation.
In addition to managing the intellectual property portfolio, the team also oversees indirect tax matters, safeguarding the company's interests and fostering business growth with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
Key ResponsibilitiesFiling of trademarks, copyrights etc; attending to office actions and attending hearingsHandling prosecution, opposition, maintenance, and renewal of all patent, trademarks, copyright and design across jurisdictionsHandling counterfeit actions and its proceedings in across jurisdictionsAdvising on intellectual property issues such as brand clearance, promotional material and domain name issues.Drafting and negotiating IP related contracts and commercial contractsUpdation of intellectual property database and expense managementAssisting IP Lead in overall management of intellectual property portfolio including trademarks, patents, copyright, and design
EducationGraduate/Postgraduate in Law
Experience5 -7 years PQE, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal team of a large company / MNC
SkillsIn-depth knowledge of intellectual property laws.Good drafting and analytical skills, commercial acumen, and time-sensitive.Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Team player having a strong desire to learn.Driven to continuously improve own capabilities and impact Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills.Good written and spoken communication skills.
