About the RoleWe are looking for a skilled Automotive Application Design Engineer with expertise in product design, fluid systems engineering, and automotive component development.In this role, you will support engineering programs from quote through launch, leading the design, validation, and development of fluid assemblies and automotive components. You will collaborate closely with customers, platform teams, and manufacturing to deliver robust, production-ready designs. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop automotive components and fluid assemblies from concept to productionSupport end-to-end product development lifecycle including design, validation, and launchCollaborate with customers, account managers, and platform teams to define product requirementsEstablish design parameters and manufacturing feasibility for automotive componentsGuide designers on fabrication, processing, and assembly considerationsExecute and implement programs through APQP / AQP methodologiesCreate and approve engineering drawings, material specifications, and performance criteriaConduct failure mode analysis (DFMEA) and ensure design robustnessDevelop and execute design validation plans (DVP&R) and testing reportsDrive design standardization and simplification to improve cost and efficiencyCoordinate prototype development, testing, and submissionEnsure all engineering and program objectives are achieved within timelines Required Skills5+ years of experience in automotive engineering / product design engineeringStrong expertise in automotive component design and fluid systems engineeringHands-on experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, and APQP (AQP) processesExperience in design validation, failure analysis, and product testingStrong understanding of manufacturing feasibility and production processesProficiency in engineering drawings, CAD tools, and design documentationAbility to manage end-to-end product development programsStrong problem-solving and analytical skills in design engineeringGood proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Strong communication skills with ability to work with global stakeholders and customers
Preferred SkillsExperience in Automotive Tier-1 suppliers or OEM environmentExposure to fluid systems, fuel systems, or thermal management componentsAbility to communicate in EnglishAbility to work across cross functional team (CFT)Experience in prototype development and testing coordinationEarly experience in program management or cross-functional leadershipKnowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA)
