Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Building Automation Systems (BAS) Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of commercial building automation project near Kansas City, Missouri. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong technical knowledge of HVAC controls and building automation systems, exceptional project management skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results while exceeding customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple Building Automation Systems (BAS) projects from kickoff through completion.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure successful project execution.
- Coordinate with customers, subcontractors, field technicians, engineers, and vendors.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
- Oversee procurement of materials and equipment.
- Monitor project progress, costs, and profitability.
- Manage project documentation, change orders, RFIs, and closeout packages.
- Conduct project meetings and provide regular status updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure projects comply with safety standards, quality requirements, and applicable codes.
- Identify project risks and implement effective solutions to keep projects on schedule.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience).
- 5+ years of experience managing Building Automation Systems, HVAC controls, or related construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of BAS platforms such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Tridium Niagara, Distech, Alerton, or similar systems.
- Experience reading mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and controls sequences.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials.
- Experience with Niagara Framework and BACnet communications.
- Knowledge of commissioning and system startup procedures.
- Experience managing commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.
