About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Business Officer (CBO) to serve as the financial leader for the Division of Research and Innovation. The CBO will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation. This role involves ensuring operational effectiveness and the administration of key research support programs.
The CBO will also provide financial oversight for various division units, including research centers and core facilities, and will partner with division leadership, academic units, and external stakeholders to support the company's strategic research objectives. Applicants for the CBO position at the company should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, with at least 4 years' of financial planning and analysis experience. A supervisory role experience of at least 2 years and 3 years' of accounting experience related to research enterprise activities are also required.
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree, a CPA or similar professional certificate, and experience in post-secondary higher education. The CBO must possess excellent communication, time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. The role demands the ability to work under time constraints, collaborate effectively, and maintain a high level of professionalism.
