Job Description
Founding Data Engineer; Build Our Data Foundation from Zero Company Description Trident Automobiles, established in 1998, began its journey as a Hyundai dealer in Bangalore and has since expanded to represent multiple global automotive brands, including Renault, Daimler, and JCB. With a workforce of over 3,400 and a strong focus on customer satisfaction, the company serves more than 2,00,000 customers. Known for its dedication to nurturing top talent and fostering an empowering work environment, Trident has become a leader in the automotive dealership industry.
Guided by its motto, \"Drive home a relationship,\" Trident is committed to delivering outstanding service and building long-term customer relationships. Role Description We're building a unified data platform from the ground up and we're hiring the first data engineer to build it. This is not a maintain-someone-else's-pipeline job.
You will design and build the entire foundation: getting data out of locked dealer systems, unifying customers across brands, standing up our data warehouse, and powering the dashboards and apps our teams use every day. You'll report directly to leadership and own the technical build. This is a full-time, on-site Data Engineer role located in the Greater Bengaluru Area.
What you'll do Build data pipelines from messy, real-world sources, scheduled exports, APIs and automation (RPA) for systems with no API access. Stand up and own our cloud data warehouse (BigQuery). Solve customer identity resolution across four brands.
Back-fill and structure years of historical data. Build and connect dashboards (Looker Studio) for leadership. Eventually: support internal app development (Firebase) and AI tooling.
You're a strong fit if you Have 4+ years building data pipelines end-to-end , ideally in scrappy or under-resourced environments. Are strong in SQL and Python . Have worked with a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake; BigQuery a plus).
Are comfortable with messy data and pragmatic workarounds (manual exports, RPA, dirty records); you solve the problem in front of you, not the ideal one. Can explain technical work in plain language to non-technical leadership. This is essential.
Take ownership and operate without hand-holding. Nice to have: RPA experience (UiPath, Python automation), BI/dashboarding, exposure to automotive/dealership/finance data, Firebase. Why join: You'll architect and build an entire group's data backbone from scratch, with direct access to director level leadership and real business impact, not another cog in a large team.
Location: Bangalore. This is not a remote job . Compensation: Competitive, based on experience.
