Job Description
We are seeking an experienced product owner to develop and own our common data platform as part of our data journey. This role is a serious opportunity for someone who wants to develop in the role of Product Owner in the context of Asset Management. It entails stakeholder management, prioritization based on business needs, solution design and tool procurement.
We are looking for someone showing strong ownership with a delivery mindset.

About This Opportunity
You will join the Data & AI acceleration unit focusing on transforming the organization to follow modern and emerging standards. We seek to build a solid framework around data and AI technologies to simplify our processes, understand the market better, and invent the ways of working of tomorrow. We are building a new data platform around Snowflake following Data Mesh principles, a multi‑year strategic project for the organization.
Your responsibility will be to build the platform upon which our teams create our enterprise data foundation.
Location and schedule:
- The role is based in Oeiras (Quinta da Fonte).
- It’s expected you to work 100% on-site in the first 6 months (with flexibility) and thereafter on a hybrid regime (3 days in the office + 2 days from home).
What You’ll Be Doing
- Be the Product Owner of our cross‑functional Data Platform team.
- Own the backlog of the Data Platform and prioritize the work.
- Ensure business requirements are translated into user stories.
- Follow up on the implementation.
- Interact with Data Producer, Data Consumer and Steering Bodies.
- Identify gaps in the available tooling to support use cases.
- Facilitate internal debate around solution design and take fact‑based decisions.
- Identify and address blockers.
- Participate in resource allocation discussions.
Who You Are
- Have strong analytical capabilities: ability to map complex business processes, weigh options, gather feedback and make sound decisions.
- Take ownership of challenges end‑to‑end.
- Manage cross‑functional stakeholders with confidence, humility, and a strong focus on outcomes.
- Proficient in Lean / DevOps / Agile thinking; especially continuous improvement, high throughput, and work‑in‑progress management.
- Have good understanding of Data Mesh framework and Data Modelling concepts.
- Are familiar with Data Governance concepts.
- Ability to animate an Agile team.
- Have a genuine interest in finance, asset management and product reporting topics – a plus.
You’ll stand out if you have experience with any of the following
- Managing and implementing modern data platforms (Snowflake, DataBricks, etc.).
- Prior experience with Snowflake, DBT, Kafka, Golden Gate, Airflow, Airbyte.
- Containerisation & Orchestration - Docker and/or Kubernetes.
- Cloud Platforms - AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Your experience and background
- Master in Computer Science, Maths or another numerate subject.
- 7 Years+ of prior experience in projects involving implementation of a data platform, solution design, or product ownership of a data‑oriented solution.
- Fluent in English (other European languages are an asset).
