Job Description
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) working within a public school district serving students from early childhood through transition. The role is itinerant with a primary focus on consultative services across multiple school sites, mainly in the Richmond area of San Francisco. This position requires on-site work and a commitment to supporting diverse learners across the district.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing from early childhood through transition.
- Provide consultative services to general education teachers and staff to support inclusive practices.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and community resources to enhance student outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Valid DHH teaching credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
- Demonstrated experience working itinerantly within multiple school sites.
- Strong consultative skills and ability to work collaboratively with educators and families.
- Knowledge of best practices in Deaf education and relevant laws and regulations.
- Effective communication skills and cultural competence.

- On-site work primarily in the Richmond area of San Francisco, CA.
