Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school district in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an experienced educator to serve as an Itinerant Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students for the 2026-2027 school year. This role is based primarily in the Richmond area, offering an engaging opportunity to support students across early childhood through transition grades within a consultative, districtwide model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in various schools throughout the district.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and staff to create inclusive learning environments.
- Provide consultative services and strategies to staff and caregivers to enhance student access and success.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of instructional plans and student progress.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid DHH teaching credential and California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) certification.
- Proven experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, preferably in an itinerant or consultative capacity.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive educational experience that meets student needs.
Position Details:
- Location: On-site in the San Francisco area, primarily Richmond district schools.
- Schedule: August 11, 2026 – June 2, 2027, 35 hours per week.
- Assignment type: Contract
