Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (DHH) serving an itinerant role within a dynamic school district in San Francisco, CA. The position requires a commitment to supporting students from early childhood through transition by providing consultative services across multiple schools primarily located in the Richmond area. This contract role runs from August 11, 2026, through June 2, 2027, with 35 hours per week on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized educational services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
- Provide consultative support and collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers within the district.
- Manage a caseload spanning early childhood to transition-age students, developing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's communication and learning needs.
- Travel between schools within the district for on-site service delivery.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation in compliance with district and state standards.
Qualifications:
- Valid DHH teaching credential and certification through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
- Proven experience delivering itinerant services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Strong consultative and collaborative skills working with diverse educational teams.
- Ability to manage an itinerant caseload efficiently and effectively within a districtwide setting.
- Commitment to on-site work within San Francisco Unified School District schools.
Location:
- Primarily schools in the Richmond neighborhood area of San Francisco, CA.
- On-site position with travel between district schools.
