Director – IT Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Procurement
Summary: The Director, IT Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Procurement is a high-impact enterprise leadership role that will own the technology strategy and transformation roadmap for manufacturing, supply chain, and procurement systems across a multi-billion-dollar global enterprise. The role will drive productivity, reliability, service levels, cybersecurity resilience, and operational performance, and will work closely with the COO and senior business leaders to modernize critical business capabilities, standardize global processes, and shape the future-state digital operating model for manufacturing and supply chain.
Location
Niskayuna, NY (Capital District). The role is located in a community with strong schools, affordable living, and easy access to major metropolitan areas.
Responsibilities
- Own the portfolio: Lead strategy and lifecycle management for global systems supporting manufacturing (MES, plant floor), supply chain planning, and procurement processes across a multi-national, $2B+ revenue, 5,000+ employee, 40+ location enterprise.
- Lead a global organization of 60 IT professionals and contractors with accountability for $4MM+ in operating expense.
- Establish roadmaps for Manufacturing, MES, Supply Chain, SIOP, and Procurement systems in alignment with enterprise architecture and business digitalization goals.
- Direct systems implementation, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects across operations, ensuring integration with ERP and other enterprise systems.
- Ensure system stability, performance, and compliance for 24×7 manufacturing and supply chain functions.
- Partner with IT Security & Infrastructure operations to define security standards and protect plant-floor systems.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, and Procurement leadership to enable productivity, quality, and cost objectives.
- Oversee relationships with key technology vendors and integration partners, ensuring contract compliance and high service delivery standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
- 12+ years in IT roles with significant experience in managing IT teams focused on Manufacturing Systems, Supply Chain Planning, or ERP-driven operations.
- 8+ years in IT program management, project management, or IT business partner roles with a proven track record of delivering large-scale IT projects.
- Software Development, DevOps, programming (Java-based environments) and other development experience.
- In-depth understanding of supply chain planning and forecasting systems.
- Deep understanding of MES and related manufacturing technologies.
