Job Description
Intermoor, Acteon's Moorings and Anchors business line, provides project and operational management expertise to customers across the mooring lifecycle. By combining operational knowledge of mooring equipment, anchor handling and industry failure modes with subsea engineering expertise, we create a company unmatched within the mooring niche. This approach mitigates risks in delivery, installation and operations across the lifecycle, reducing mooring lifecycle costs and safeguarding major operations that protect start-up schedules when mooring and mooring intervention are on the project or production critical path.
We are looking to add an Engineer to the team in Rio. The Engineer performs the design and analysis of shallow and deepwater mooring and anchoring systems components for various types of floating drilling, production, and offshore support vessels.
The successful candidate will be based in the Rio de Janeiro area.

Duties
- Design and analysis of anchoring systems for steel catenary and synthetic taut leg shallow and deepwater mooring systems for AHTS vessels, barges, tender assist drilling units, drilling rigs and permanent production facilities. Anchoring systems include suction piles, driven piles, gravity base foundations, SEPLA anchors, torpedo piles, etc.
- Structural design of installation aids (such as A-frame's, launching systems, etc) for installation of mooring systems and subsea equipment using anchor handling tug supply vessels
- Design and analysis of catenary and taut leg deepwater mooring systems (steel and synthetic) for drilling rigs and permanent production facilities
- Procedure development for installation of mooring systems and subsea equipment using anchor handling / dive support vessels
- Offshore support for installation activities
- Report writing and communication skills
- Continually improve working knowledge of mooring and foundation engineering
- Design and analysis of mooring systems for drilling platforms and permanent production units
- Development of procedures for the installation of mooring systems and subsea equipment
- Issuance of executive project reports
- Material inventory: Control of records relating to the requisition, receipt, storage, distribution and dispatch of materials and equipment
- Participate in the company's HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) Programs (Ex: Safety Meetings, Participate in operations risk assessments, etc.);
- Ensure that all operations are carried out within InterMoor's Health, Safety and Environmental Management System
Required
- Degree in Engineering: Mechanical, Production, Naval, Civil, Metallurgical Engineering or related field
- 2 years' experience in mooring design and mooring operations, and offshore experience highly preferred
- Fluent English - speaking, reading, and writing
- Autocad, Office package, Orcaflex or any mooring analysis software
- Oral Communication: Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
- Written Communication: Write clearly and informatively
- Ability to work in a team (good interpersonal relationships)
- Ability to adapt to new situations
- Availability for national and international travel
- Performance in HSE (health, safety and environmental) management, including work permit, risk assessment, basic understanding of safety, health and environmental standards
