The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Evening Production Manager to join a well‑established food manufacturing business in Clonmel. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the evening production operation, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
You’ll lead production teams, drive operational performance, and play a key role in delivering production targets while maintaining a strong focus on food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop Production Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Production Operatives.
- Take ownership of the evening shift, ensuring production plans are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Drive productivity, labour utilisation, efficiency, yield, and waste reduction across the operation.
- Monitor production KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure the highest standards of food safety, quality, hygiene, and traceability are maintained.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture and ensure compliance with company procedures.
- Work closely with Planning, Technical, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to maximise operational performance.
- Lead shift handovers and communicate priorities effectively across departments.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage employee performance, coaching, training, and succession planning.
- Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Ensure compliance with customer, retailer, and company standards at all times.
About You
- Previous experience as a Production Manager, Shift Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Shift Manager, or Senior Production Supervisor within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Proven experience leading production teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of production KPIs, labour management, efficiency, yield, waste reduction, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, GMP, traceability, and health & safety requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to build, motivate, and develop high‑performing teams.
- Flexible to work an evening shift.
