Job Description
We are inviting applications from experienced fashion educators, industry professionals, designers, practitioners and subject experts for teaching roles across its Fashion Design & Entrepreneurship programs.
ADI is building a studio-led, industry-connected and entrepreneurship-focused fashion education model. We are looking for faculty members who can teach beyond theory through demonstrations, guided practice, critique, portfolio development, real-world examples, workshops and fashion industry exposure.
Location: Ahmedabad & Mumbai
- Ahmedabad: ADI Main Campus, Commerce Road, Ahmedabad
- Mumbai: Malad / Kandivali / Ghatkopar
Engagement Type: Visiting Faculty
Time Commitment: The engagement will involve 2-3 hour teaching / studio blocks, with approximately 2-3 engagements per week depending on subject allocation. Final timetable and compensation will be discussed during the interview.
1. Fashion Atelier
Patternmaking, draping, garment construction, toile development, fit correction, finishing, sample development and studio jury support.
2. Fashion Visualisation & Portfolio
Fashion sketching, illustration, aesthetics, visual communication, concept boards, moodboards, layout, portfolio basics and presentation quality.
3. Digital Fashion, AI & Design Tools
Digital design foundation, Adobe tools, Canva, CLO3D or similar tools, AI applications in fashion, digital moodboards, concept sheets, digital portfolio documentation and responsible AI usage.
4. Design Research, Concept Development & Design Thinking
Design thinking, reflective practice, research-led design, concept framing, user/context study, process documentation, critique and iteration.
5. Fashion Business & Entrepreneurship
Creative enterprise, entrepreneurship foundations, business models, customer discovery, brand strategy, value proposition, pitch deck and start-up thinking.
6. Consumer Psychology & Fashion Market Insights
Consumer behaviour, fashion market observation, customer persona, buying behaviour, retail/e-commerce insights, trend-to-consumer understanding and case-based teaching.
7. Indian Craft, IKS & Culture Studies
Indian Knowledge Systems, craft and textile heritage, Indian design language, cultural research, ethical inspiration, craft documentation and contemporary translation.
8. Fashion Industry Systems
Fashion value chain, sourcing, production basics, merchandising awareness, retail logic, vendor systems, quality checks and industry workflow understanding.
Candidates should have strong subject expertise, industry exposure and/or prior teaching experience. They should be comfortable conducting practical demonstrations, reviewing student work, mentoring portfolio-ready outcomes and participating in reviews or juries.
Multidisciplinary faculty members who can teach across more than one subject/module are preferred.
